Huan Song is the Director of Communications at Openlands and an experienced cause-marketing professional who is passionate about sharing stories of impact. Her love of people and the planet has taken her all over the world to advocate for equitable access to housing, sanitation, education and nutrition. She was named a Young Ocean Leader by the Sustainable Ocean Alliance in 2018 and is a graduate of the United Way of Champaign County Emerging Community Leaders program. Prior to joining Openlands, Huan worked as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, in the department of bioengineering. Huan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Environmental Science from The College of William and Mary and a Master of Science in Geography from King’s College London. She is a TreeKeeper (#1870) and an urban gardener.
