Fermilab (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory), Head of Digital Communications
Maura Barone, a particle and computational physicist, is the Head of Digital Communications at Fermilab, America's particle physics and accelerator laboratory.
Fermilab's website was one of the first in the world. After three decades, the site remains the key platform for generating awareness, education and interest in the lab's world-leading science and technology. Goal for the site is to capture imagination, advance knowledge and understanding, and inspire the next generation.
Prior to joining the Office of Communication, Barone collaborated on several international high-energy physics experiments at Fermilab, CERN in Switzerland and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics in Italy. Barone combined her professional and research work with extensive academic experience as a physics professor, teaching physics for over one decade.
