Mel Fenner

Dr. Mel Fenner is an innovator that enjoys helping organizations realize the potential of technology. Mel has worked in the technology field for nearly 20 years and now serves as the Associate Director of Health Innovation and the Senior Assistant Director of Medical & Mental Health Systems and Compliance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As Associate Director, Mel is leading a team of cross-functional designers, researchers, and practitioners as they journey to create interwoven wellness tools for the Illinois App and Smart, Healthy Communities Initiative. For the team, wellness is multidimensional, covering everything from mental wellness to academic and social wellness. They hope the digital tools they build can be shared with the world through the open-source platform, Rokwire.
