Designing CMS Authoring Experiences

Speaker: Jason Rambeck

User experience (UX) is a well-established foundation of interaction design. Often the UX design energy on a website project is put towards users who visit the website. However, the long-term success of a website is held in no small part by the authors who create and maintain the content. In this session we will look at tactics for supporting those who tend our websites by creating thoughtful author experiences. By balancing simplicity with flexibility we can create rich content tools that don’t burden authors with superfluous decisions and even help guide in best practices and consistency. This session is for designers, developers, content creators, or anyone involved in a CMS website project that cares about their users on both ends of the site.
