Chris Axtman-Barker is the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing for University Housing at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science at Carroll College, and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Illinois Springfield. Previously at the University of Illinois, he worked in Enrollment Management, developing marketing strategy for Undergraduate Admissions. He has also worked at several community-based nonprofit organizations in donor focused communications roles where he communicated a wide range of issues – from food insecurity to mental health. In his spare time, he enjoys games of all kinds, as well as a good wine and cheese pairing.

Dick has been working on websites and involved with the accessibility community on campus since joining the University in 2014. He is a member of the IT Accessibility Liaisons Advisory committee, the Website Implementation Guidelines Group, and the Technology Accessibility Review Committee. He is IADP certified.

Mari Anne Brocker Curry serves as the Director of Housing Information & Marketing for University Housing at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication & Political Science and a Master of Education with an emphasis in Leadership: Training & Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Mari Anne began her Housing career in 1999 as a resident advisor for a privately-owned residence hall before joining the University as an employee in 2004. She has held a variety of roles with an eye toward student service for University Housing since that time. Currently, she is responsible for the “sales and marketing” unit of University Housing and is energized by looking for new, creative ways to communicate with students and families about the benefits of living on campus and attending the University of Illinois.
