I also am heavily involved in the Web Implementation Guidelines Group project, focusing on web components, accessibility, and analytics. Courtney is a UX Designer for the College of Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a UX Designer, she applies user-centric design principles, methodologies, and techniques to develop interactive experiences for enterprise web applications, websites, and mobile apps. Courtney works closely with users, analysts, web designers, developers, writers, and quality assurance testers to develop application design specifications for the user interface as well as evaluate and test application usability and accessibility.

Courtney also volunteers on several committees, including the Website Implementation Guidelines Group (WIGG) Steering Committee, where she co-leads the WIGG Designers. She also is an Accessibility Liaison, volunteers on the Web Con Accessibility Committee, and is a working group member for the Application Development UX Standards group.

Liz is a UX strategist, designer, and end-user advocate. She is passionate about creating thoughtful, data-driven, holistic user experiences. Eager curiosity, infectious empathy, a collaborative spirit, and a joyful ethos guide her practice.

Liz is a teammate with the Website Management Center of Expertise and active in the Website Implementation Guidelines Group. She is also part of the Women in Technology leadership team, an Accessibility Liaison, and volunteers on the Web Con Website and Accessibility Committees. She is a two-time U of I grad with degrees in Advertising and Information Science.

Coleman’s visual communications experience tracks both the private and public sectors. Among these are as a creative director of a successful demand-side ad network in Washington D.C., leading a small design team as a U.S. federal employee, and others. Coleman readily evolves concepts into milestone projects and incubates effective design through intentional research, strategy, and iteration. Coleman is an alumni member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and an active member of the Chicago Advertising Federation (CAF).

Anthony serves as the Extension Communications & Marketing Program Coordinator serving Grundy, Kankakee, & Will counties. In this role, he leads outreach efforts for the tri-county unit. His goal is to harness the power of the University of Illinois to bring change to the community through strategic efforts and great stories.Outside of his work with Extension, Anthony is an accomplished freelance journalist and science writer, with pieces appearing in Scientific American, Massachusetts General Hospital’s PROTO Magazine, and others.Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources with individualized study in Environmental Research & Informal Interpretation (i.e. Informal Communication) from Oregon State University. His specialty lies in interpreting research in impactful ways to inspire action and move toward a result.

Yamys Urbano Valencia is the Bilingual PR & Communications Specialist at Openlands, a regional environmental nonprofit with 60 years of history serving the Chicago metropolitan area. He works with staff to create media strategies that get people involved in conservation and recreation. Yamys is a Latino immigrant and is a passionate communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and communications. Yamys holds a BA in Journalism from Santa Rosa Catholic University (Caracas – Venezuela). Prior to joining the team at Openlands, Yamys worked as the Press and Communications Director for the Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento, California and also held various high-profile journalism roles in Venezuela.
